What is on the page, and how to get the most out of it.

A U is a single stroke: down one side, round the bottom, and up the other. The curve at the base is gentle and there is no join to close, which makes it considerably easier than the O it superficially resembles.
The thing to watch is the two sides staying parallel. Children often let the second side drift outward, producing a shape closer to a V with a rounded base. Not worth correcting hard, but worth noticing whether the width stays even.
A U is also a J with both sides the same length, so doing these two near each other is useful. The J hook and the U base are the same movement, one carried further than the other.
The umbrella handle is the best part of this page. It is a hook curving in the same direction as the bottom of the letter, so tracing the picture rehearses the letter without anyone having to say so.
