After the 6, this one comes as a relief. A 7 has no curves at all. It is a straight line across the top and a straight diagonal down, one continuous stroke with a single sharp corner between them.
That makes it the second easiest digit after the 1, and a good one to reach for when your child has had a frustrating session on something harder. Finishing a sheet cleanly matters for how willing they are to sit down next time.
The one thing to watch is the angle of the diagonal. Children often draw it almost vertical, which turns the 7 into something closer to a T. The slide picture helps, since a slide that goes straight down is not much of a slide.
